July 8th, 2008 — google, internet
In recent news, Bell has been accused by Google for throttling certain internet traffic in Canada which illegal under Canadian telecommunications law.
I am glad that Google is getting behind this since they have some power to deal with.
I think internet throttling is just a scam for telecommunication companies to make more money off consumers.
By throttling internet, big online businesses like Google, Yahoo, and AOL will get affected since it means less traffic in the long run. Throttling might be the worse way to make someone pay for internet, especially since internet has been growing steadily.
They had throttling way back before the internet, when Prodigy and AOL were fighting for customers. Both Prodigy and AOL used to have pay by hour. But AOL started offering $10/month for unlimited dial-up access, which proves why AOL got real big while Prodigy just died.
Returning to the point, throttling isn’t much of a problem in the long run as I foresee that at least one telecommunication company will offer unlimited internet and they will get all the customers.
As far as I can see, telecommunication companies throttling internet are simply shooting themselves in the foot. People by in large control how companies dictate their policies, not the other way around. Let’s start by boycotting Bell, whatever that crap is.

Here’s comes Twellow, a search engine for twitters basically. I typed, “zedomax” and found my twitter account which is cool I guess.
Beyond that, there are other functions like you can search by categories and whatnot.
I think this is a really good idea as search engines have proven to make a lot of money. (Google???)
Twellow is a great new search tool and directory for discovering Twitter users that could fundamentally change the way people use the microblogging service.
Launched by the same people behind the tech news site WebProNews, Twellow has indexed more than 300,000 users and sorted them into categories like programming, marketing, graphic design, and dozens of others to help you find users who list those characteristics in their Twitter biographies. There are also sub-categories, so within “Programming” you can browse users who list PHP, Ruby on Rails, or another programming ski

With all the people trying to make money by piggy backing on Twitter, here’s another cool app that might make a million bucks using that strategy.
TwittURLy is a real time tracker of popular URLs on Twitter.
It looks like a good idea and if they can implement a “category-based” updates, it might even do better.
Twitturly operates similar to Digg.com, however instead of users voting sites up or down on our site, we monitor the Twitter public timeline for links inside the Tweets and consider each tweet with a link in it as a vote for that URL.
A major benefit of Twitturly over other popular news outlets is that Twitter often has the information first, thus anyone watching Twitturly will usually see news break before any other outlet has it.
We use a proprietary algorithm to sort the links on our homepage so the most popular and recent ones appear closer to the top.

It seems like everyday we see more web apps geared toward Facebook and Twitter.
Well, it should be obvious to everyone in the Web2.0 world that there’s a lot of money to be made by piggybacking on those bigger “whales”.
LiveTwitting brings you conference twitting at its finest with their launch.
Say you’re at a conference about the latest and greatest Twitter experiment and you want to tweet to your friends about what’s going on as it happens. Live Twitting will record all your tweets and assemble them into a single page for easy reading. It works with web, IM, SMS, twhirl, or twitterific.

Well, here’s year 2008 and Zedomax Network is going strong with over 450K views per month!
If you have been wondering why we have been quiet, it’s because we are short-handed with developers due to profit losses this year.
Basically, we have one developer this year and everything else is being outsourced. (Well, when we have money that is…)
On the bright side, we are developing a new Web 2.5 social bookmarking/networking site called SiteHoppin.com.
It’s still only about 50% complete but the site is open to public for beta testing.
Basically, you get free traffic to your websites. All you have to do it submit your URLs.
On top of it, we will have a new feature called, “Tag Browsing”, that allows you to “hop” your favorite sites at a click of your mouse button.
It’s similar to StumbleUpon.com and Del.icio.us but very different in that you can “tag browse” sites.
Check it out if you want to see our site being revamped live.
On another great note for year 2008 and 4am in the morning, we got a new knol project called http://knolproject.net. Right now, we don’t have anything on there but we are planning to “open-source” the paid wiki concept to let everyone get in the new “paid wiki” wave. Basically, we will teach you how to make a wiki site like the One Buck Wiki or the new Google Knol Project. We are currently accepting any freelance developers to contribute and share ideas for the site so if you are interested in community development, shoot us an email at zedomax [at] gmail.com and you will be included in our exclusive list of developers for the new open source project.

If you guys don’t believe Max, I can prove all this to you guys
He has given me so much visitors that I can barely handle!
As for the pricing goes…$200/month is very good since paying for PPC or sites similar to that would cost way more in the end.
