Pizza Hut Launches Adobe Flex Application!

One of my favorite pizzas, Pizza Hut, launches Adobe Flex Application.  Basically, you can order using their desktop Adobe Flex app instead of the traditional online ordering.

Mind you, I was an employee of Pizza Hut about 10 years ago.

The new Flex application also lets the user view their older orders as you can see here: (my last order)

The great advantage of an Adobe Flex app like this?  I don’t have to wait for the site to load and ordering is much quicker than using Pizza Hut’s online ordering system.

Adobe Air is a wonderful platform, no doubt about it. Still, who thought it would hit the mainstream quickly enough to get the attention of a multi-national restaurant chain like Pizza Hut? Jay Hathaway of DownloadSquad brings to our attention this release, which you can pull off the Web to start ordering that deep dish immediately. You can place all your usual orders as well as save some of your favorite configurations for quick repeat ordering. Perfect for the college crowd. And the startup crowd. Even the blogger crowd!

China Allows Bloggers Freedom after Earthquake!

China, a country known to control their citizens’ internet, has just allowed some leniency for bloggers to blog about the earthquake.  Great, freedom when there’s crisis and none when there isn’t.  Maybe they do care…

Almost nonstop, the uncensored opinions of Chinese citizens are popping up online, sent by text and instant message across a country shaken by its worst earthquake in three decades.

“Why were most of those killed in the earthquake children?” one post asked Thursday on FanFou, a microblogging site.

“How many donations will really reach the disaster area? This is doubtful,” read another.

China is now home to the world’s largest number of Internet and mobile phone users, and their hunger for quake news is forcing the government to let information flow in ways it hasn’t before.

A fast-moving network of text messages, instant messages and blogs has been a powerful source of firsthand accounts of the disaster, as well as pleas for help and even passionate criticism of rescue efforts.

“I don’t want to use the word transparent, but it’s less censored, an almost free flow of discussion,” said Xiao Qiang, a journalism professor at the University of California, Berkeley,

Domize, the fastest domain search tool in the world!

Domize, the fastest domain search tool in the world!

Domize, is a domain search tool that searches as you type using AJAX technology. (what I presume)

Basically, when you type “Google.com”, it will search for the available domain names in real-time including g.com, go.com,goo.com, goog.com, you get the idea.

I might have some good uses for this as sometimes I need that fast response.

Great job guys on the site.

Domize, the fastest domain search tool in the world!2

As you type in the search box, Domize automatically starts showing the availability of dot coms, dot nets, and dot orgs. Red indicates it’s taken, blue indicates it’s available. Click the blue and Domize links you to GoDaddy to purchase the name (Domize presumably makes affiliate revenue if you complete the buy). Mouse-over the red for domain names that are taken and you’ll get a preview of the site, which allows you to see if it’s developed, or one that has nothing on it and is likely owned by a domain squatter that might be willing to sell you the name.

World Devils Social Networking Site

World Devils Social Networking Site

Check out this hilarious site, WorldDevils. It’s a site where you can vote on your favorite devils in the world. Looks like Bush is the most evil of all…

Any user can submit a devil. This could be a person, company, organization or ideology. From there, you’ll need to pick a category, such as science or politics, and then a country. Devils are categorized by these main factors. In the description of the devil, you can explain who or what they are, and why they’re a devil. You’re also encouraged to provide a source. You can then include an image. With a Digg-like voting system, each devil is then left to the members to be confirmed as evil, or saved from their fallen angel status. Top devils are labeled Beelzebubs.
