Jobirn is a new type of job search network where job seekers can get a “referral” to their desired job. It’s still in “alpha” stages but does look promising with the new niche they have created to differentiate from all the “other” job search sites. (Thanks Bruce for the tip!)
Jobirn is free referral network that connects applicants with employees inside the company where they would like to work. Jobirn makes connecting easy through features available inside the website such as video conferencing, chat and thousands of jobs. We helps job seekers get a referral to their ideal job, and company insiders find the right candidate. If you are a hiring manager or a recruiter, Jobirn is also a free recruitment platform.
Jobirn believes through company employee referral network, both recruitment and job hunt will be more efficient and effective. First, employees can create greater value to the company. Jobirn aggregates video interview and instant web-chat ( now support Windows Live Messenger, Yahoo! Messenger, GTalk and AIM.) for referrers easy to refer a candidate. Second, hunting job through referral network is times more effective than job board, which you can get immediate response and useful resource.
To prove that quantity rules in the blogging world, I averaged about 5-10 blog posts per day on this site, Zedomax.net over the last week or so.
Before that, I rarely updated the site and wasn’t trying to bring any traffic.
As you can see, with lots of hard work blogging, you can easily go from 20-30 visitors to 200-300 visitors within a week or two as seen in the above statcounter graph.
Now, my next goal is to hit around 500-1000 visitors within the next 2 weeks. I probably won’t achieve it but it’s a good goal. On the other hand, there is also good chance I just might get there if I push to 24 blog posts per day.
Another secret I can tell you about why “quantity” works is that Google search engine is “all” about finding new information fast and giving that to the consumers.
The reason why the top 100 bloggers have minimum of 24 posts per day is because our world is full of information. Think of how many new things that happen daily. Do you think you can cover all the new information in just 24 blog posts? No, the answer is that who ever is providing new information quicker to the search engines will get a boost in traffic from the people who search for that information.
Now, the secret is, “you gotta blog about something new”.
If you look carefully, almost every blog post on this blog was about some new company that launched something. Next time someone wants to find out about that new company, guess who’s getting that traffic?
Well, enough about blogging secrets, you will have to wait till next time for more. Make sure to subscribe to the blog!
After a quick peek, I got a sense that this could be Yelp for travel. Yelp did start out in San Francisco and I even saw a lot of their Craigslist listing for college kids to review restaurants and retail stores for like $5 per review. (when they were unknown that is)
Perhaps that’s not what uptake can do as travel covers so many different places but they could target major tourism areas like Las Vegas, New York, Hawaii, and San Francisco.
This site does have potential to become a lot bigger as I do like the site layout plus the GoogleMaps API looks great for a travel site. Now, they might even do better if they add a travel blog and write about places they go for promoting their site… (hint, hint?)
Looks great though and they could end up killing competitor sites like Orbitz one day.

Is there room for another? Perhaps. Enter, Uptake, the invention of former general manager of Yahoo Travel, Yen Lee.
Having previously carried the name “Kango,” in its private beta days (circa, December 2007), UpTake is a site that purports to offer a collection of “the travel industry’s largest database of hotels and attractions,” plus an analysis of “more than 20 million online opinions.” All of it intended to carry out the industry promise of helping travelers “make better decisions.”
Fuzz, a music portal/social networking site, has launched Blip, basically a Twitter-clone for Music lovers.
The most outstanding feature is that when people “blip” instead of “twitt”, they can link an MP3 song straight from the Fuzz database. This feature is really cool as I am actually listening to an MP3 “blipped” by one of Blip users.
Great stuff, although I am not an avid Twitter, I will be an avid Blipper as now I can hop from song to song.
But if music is indeed a significant part of Pownce’s future, then Blip is one step ahead. Call it “Twitter for Music” since it’s essentially just that: a way to suggest music and share your thoughts about it with a network of contacts.
The beauty of Blip is that, unlike with Pownce, no file uploads are necessary. Just search for the song you have in mind and Blip will grab it from Seeqpod, Skreemr, or parent company Fuzz’s own database of music. Your followers (”listeners”) can hear full versions of the songs you post using a Songza-like player at the bottom of the page.
Well, I’ve honestly ran out of ideas for writing posts on this new site. We really need to make some money making scheme such as advertising with all the traffic we get but maybe we don’t get enough traffic yET.
Anyways, here’s some cool informational posts on Niche Marketing with Blogs and Wordpress: (Yes, Wordpress rules!)
