Recently, I read up on Gizmodo’s post that Google is paying wireless carriers revenue share of mobile ads for carrying their Android-based smartphones. I think this is a “highly” great idea as we can look at the history of Google’s Adsense ads, which started small but now is a major part of Google’s revenue.
In the long run, I think Google’s Android-based phones will take off more because of it. By offering revenue share, carriers have more reasons to promote Google’s products.
On the other side of the globe, Apple does not offer revenue share and they are missing on the larger pie of our mobile economy. It’s a simple idea, feed the hunters and they will hunt for you.
What do you think? A good idea or not?
