Google is going Green!

Google (GOOG) is probably the only web search engine giant that pushes green projects right now. Google is investing $125 million into BrightSource Energy. Although Yahoo does have Yahoo Green, I don’t see them taking real action like this.

Today we are pleased to announce our participation in BrightSource Energy’s $115 million venture financing with a $10 million equity investment as part of Google’s RE<C initiative.

Solar thermal energy generation is one of the key emerging industries addressing the changing global climate and we are excited about both of our current investments in solar thermal technology — BrightSource Energy and eSolar.

This is amazing news! I had never heard about google doing this, so the fact that a big name company like google is going green is an amazing sign of the times. I’d love to work for google, I’ve heard their offices are like basically big playgrounds!

Another thing I want to talk about is bioheat, it’s just one small measure that people can take in order to start living a greener lifestyle.

Has anyone ever heard of it, or has switched to it? I want to start taking initiative in turning my home into a greener household, one way I have started is by switching out all my lightbulbs in my home to energy efficient lightbulbs. And I am also seriously considering switching over to bioheat as an alternative to regular oilheat. The thing that I love the most about it is that it’s completely clean burning, and is comprised of a b5 blend of oils which are derived from natural plant and vegetable sustainable resources such as corn, hemp, and avocados just to name a few. If you all want more information on how bioheat, just go on to I work with NORA to bring this info to you all!
